London Recovery Associates

Founder: Dr. Martyn Judson

Dr. Martyn Judson is a pioneer of addiction medicine in London, Ontario, with over four decades of clinical experience dedicated to the treatment of opioid dependence. In 1991, he became the first physician west of Toronto to prescribe methadone for opioid addiction, and he later co-authored the original methadone treatment guidelines for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, helping to shape standards of care across the province. Building on this work, Dr. Judson founded Clinic 528, one of the first methadone maintenance treatment programs in the London region, which grew to serve more than 1,300 patients with the support of a multidisciplinary team. Now retired, Dr. Judson’s legacy continues through the clinic’s physicians, all of whom have benefited from his mentorship and guidance as an advisor. Through his leadership, Clinic 528 established itself as a model for evidence-based opioid agonist therapy, focused on stabilizing patients and supporting long-term recovery. Today, our mission continues this legacy by serving individuals with opioid addiction, with a focus on short-term stabilization as a pathway to sustained, long-term recovery.

Our team is committed to providing comprehensive, accessible and personalized opioid addiction treatment. We offer a friendly, non-judgmental approach, focusing on use minimization. We recognize that relapse is part of recovery, so we welcome patients back at any stage of their journey.
